The Dynamo's clear plastic case actually lets you and your students watch as physical energy is transferred into electrical energy. Based on Michael Faraday's groundbreaking invention (which he called the "dynamo"), this flashlight uses only a disk magnet and two coils of copper to generate electricity.

When you squeeze the handle, a ratchet and gear system spin the magnet between the coils, and voila!, the flashlight shines! The faster you squeeze, the brighter the light shines.
