I use this item to demonstrate to adults and children a closed electrical circuit, that electricity runs through our bodies and by holding the contacts on the ball we make an electrical circuit. I tie this into the idea we need to drink enough water daily to keep the energy and electricity flowing well in our body and brain. This always captivates both young and old.
